Responsibilities
Let's Get Specific
Under supervision, preparing working papers for Review Engagements and Compilation Engagements.
Under supervision, preparing working papers (transactions and control testing, cash, prepaids, fixed assets, expense vouching) for Audit Engagements.
Independently preparing level 1-2 corporate tax returns, clearing all diagnostics and identifying when further assistance is required.
Completing various income tax slips and filings for corporate tax returns, including T4’s and T5’s.
Independently preparing level 1-2 tax returns.
Other duties as assigned.
Skillset and Education
- Be a graduate of a University Accounting program or equivalent
- Be pursuing a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) Designation
- Have experience in a public accounting firm is an asset
- Be proficient with MS Office, specifically Excel and Word
- Be able to create complex formulas, VLOOKUP, pivot table, data analytics
- Have a good comprehension of accounting principles, and application of (GAAP), IFRS, ASPE, ASNPO and Canadian Auditing Standards
- Have the ability to identify technical accounting issues
- Knowledge of CaseWare, CaseView, Jazzit, Taxprep is an asset

- Promptly identify significant issues for discussion with the Manager and/or Partner
- Bring an inquisitive mindset and pose credible solutions to issues
- Ensure that all queries and outstanding points have been cleared satisfactorily
- Critically review your work before submitting it to your Manager
